In his work, Alan Singer tries to bridge art and science. He works from mathematical equations which he turns into two-dimensional colorful works of art. “My goal is to bring new forms to visual arts, and to explore their possibilities. But, to be clear, I am not a mathematician, I am a visual artist. I employ digital and mathematical tools that make the work both interesting and challenging. I see mathematics and art as being extensions of each other. […] Mathematics can be used to measure and describe reality. When combined with vision and an esthetic sensibility it become be a tool to make art.”
