Our next show, “Carousel” features Gallery Partner, Steve Levinson. Steve Levinson has always loved the beauty of Carousels, even from childhood. A recent visit to the Binghamton area, which has six carousels, inspired this exhibit. The amazing beauty of the horses and other animals is a testament to the creativity of the carvers, many of which were made at the Allen Herschell Company in Tonawanda, New York.

The show features carousels from Binghamton, Tonawanda, Cooperstown, Colorado, Boston, Syracuse, Albany and of course Rochester. The photographs were made to isolate the beauty of this menagerie of whimsical figures; portraits showing the handiwork of craftsmen over the years.

In addition, Dede Hartung is in the Neuberger Gallery, Guest Photographers Gaylon Arnold, Gerry Iuppa, Joe Jech, Ken Rose, Michael Shoemaker, and d. dargan Teska, with Select Photographs by Camera Rochester Photographers Amy J. Carpenter, Bonnie Gamache, Andrea Gluckman and Michelle Turner. Galley Partners Dick Bennett, Marie Costanza, Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Don Menges, Luann Pero, Betsy Phillips, John Solberg and Sheridan Vincent will also exhibit their work.

This exhibition runs May 17 – June 12. There is no admission fee, and the Gallery is handicap accessible.
