Come What May, It Takes A Silver Bullet by Abiose Spriggs
Rochester Contemporary Art Center
137 East Ave.
Oct 7, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join RoCo for the Opening Reception of Come What May, It Takes A Silver Bullet, a solo exhibition by Abiose Spriggs! Featuring new multi-media works, this exhibition is the result of the artist’s extended meditation on the film “Emperor Jones” (1933). After watching the film during the pandemic, Spriggs “became completely enthralled by what I had watched and needed to process what I saw.” The works examine Brutus Jones, the main character played by Paul Robeson, and are infused with the artist’s reflections on both the groundbreaking aspects of the film, and its use of dated and problematic tropes.

Stop by to view the exhibition, enjoy refreshments, and meet the artist! Learn more about the exhibition and the artist here.

This exhibition continues through November 12.
