EVENT UPDATE: jm-ART wil be CLOSED tonight. Hope to see you on Saturday the 12th from 1-4pm!

This First Friday, visit jm-ART for a continuation of January’s exhibition theme, Reproductions of Masters Works!

Starting about forty eight years ago, I learned to paint by trying to copy what I saw in books by people I did not know, and I continue to learn something every single time I try to reproduce a famous artist’s work. In fact, in this exhibit I will show the 2nd piece I ever painted, a copy of a work by George Innes. In spite of my MFA, I still love to attempt to do what the Masters did. And now I know who they are!! This First Friday, I will have several Degas’ and Van Gogh’s, a Cezanne, Manet, Modigliani, Sargent, Lautrec, Millet and more, 17 paintings to be exact, on display in my one-room gallery that changes exhibits most every month. Seventeen paintings may not sound like a lot, but I really like to paint large canvases, so it fills up a room fast! My name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott and I use all my initials as my gallery (jm-ART / jm-ART.com).

As I’m a part of Central Creatives, park towards the left of the Piano Mall and enter through the red door between Weaving Arts Guild and Penn Fair Golf. Then just follow the signs to the second floor; I am in the first suite on the right after you exit the stairs or elevator, #2700 which I share with Sylvia’s Art Spot. There’s plenty of free parking.

This exhibit runs through February 28. I am not going to change this exhibit, as I wanted to every month, because I had to cancel last First Friday because of snow, and then there was the holiday rise in Covid cases, so not many people wanted to get out and about. Masks are still required for all visitors and I take all other precautions possible and I’ve had all three shots. Thank you for your cooperation. If you need a private appointment because of Covid, you can make one on my website home page.
