Apr 5, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for the Opening Reception with hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and Stonewall-era music by DJ Solid Bear. The reception is sponsored by the Out Alliance. The exhibition, Stonewall: 50 Years Out, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the uprising at the Stonewall Inn in NYC which sparked the modern LGBTQ+ Civil Rights Movement. The exhibition will focus on Rochester’s significant role in the Movement, most notably in passage of the NY State Marriage Equality Act in 2011. The free exhibition will be on view in Central Library’s Anthony Mascioli Gallery, 115 South Avenue, from April 5 through July 20 during regular library hours. The project is led by City Historian Christine Ridarsky and guided by community partners representing the diversity of the local LGBTQ+ community. Presenting sponsors include the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library; Trillium Health and Dr. William Valenti & James Wolk.
