Nina Whidden: A Very Personal Journey
Zak's Avenue
661 South Ave.
Nov 7, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Zak’s Avenue will host a First Friday Art show displaying recent works by Nina Whidden. The pieces which will be on display are realistic female nudes rendered in Carbon and drawn on 100% cotton archival paper. Carbon is quite unforgiving as it resists erasing and scores the paper. It’s best to just get it right the first time! It’s worth it, though, as it makes for a beautiful, permanent, and non-smudging deep matte black and the 100% cotton paper means it will never yellow or deteriorate as it is naturally acid -free, unlike papers made from wood pulp. The images are, as the title suggests, quite personal and were created during an extremely difficult and life-altering time. To learn more about what that means and what these artworks represent, come to the show and find out. You’ll be very surprised!
