Feb 3, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Rochester Artist Hayley Dayis traveled to Popayán, Colombia for two winters to learn the art of soil painting from the Fals family. Ten of her original soil paintings, painted with pure volcanic soils, will be on display at Nu Movement in the Neighborhood of the Arts for the months of December and January.

A display with photos and soil samples will explain the process of making soil pigments from the raw, colorful earth of Colombia. More information about the artist, along with a Soil Painting Catalogue documenting of all of her current works in soil, will be available.

Closing reception to be held at Nu Movement on First Friday February 3, 2023 from 6-9 pm.
