The Slowing – ‘If All of Rochester Reads the Same Book’ Scavenger Hunt
Writers & Books and Ampersand Books
740 University Ave.
Feb 6, 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Help kick off the 15th year of “If All of Rochester Reads the Same Book…”! Come experience an artistic interpretation of The Age of Miracles, with narrated excerpts, accompanied by live music and film, designed to bring the viewer into the essence of the world Karen Thompson Walker has created in the novel, and experience “the slowing” first hand. Music and film is by Rochester-based composer Andrew Alden, who has toured the country, gaining accolades for his original live scoring to classic films. Expand the celebration with a Scavenger Hunt as part of First Friday, with prizes! Visit participating First Friday venues and find a hidden item related to the book (images of the item will be posted on the W&B website and Facebook page and via Twitter on February 6 at noon). Bring your found item to W&B by 9:30pm to receive a free copy of the novel. This event is free and open to the public. For information on W&B events visit www.wab.org.
