Portraying Experience and Emotion
Pittsford Fine Art
4 N Main St.
Feb 6, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Pittsford Fine Art is honored to present Suzi Zefting-Kuhn as its Featured Artist, showcasing a body of work shaped by a love of portraiture, travel, and observation. The exhibition will be on view from February 3rd through March 1st.
Rooted in journeys through South Africa and Iceland, this collection reflects encounters with landscapes both vast and intimate, and the surprise and awe of encounters with amazing wildlife. From the volcanic stillness and glacial horizons of Iceland to the expansive savannas of South Africa, Suzi draws inspiration from her experiences in those two countries with the people, the wildlife and landscapes.
Working in oil and pastel in a realistic style the artist creates landscapes, portraits and wildlife artworks that try to convey what she saw and experienced.
“After traveling to such exciting places, or spending time with a subject, I find it rewarding to try to portray the experience or the personality of the subject I am painting,” said Suzi Zefting-Kuhn.
Suzi is the founder of the Main Street Artists Gallery & Studio now located in the Fedder Building, 1237 E. Main St., and is a Signature member of the Rochester Art Club, and member of The Pastel Society of Western New York. She is a member of national organizations such as the Portrait Society of America, American Women Artists and the Adirondack Pastel Society.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, February 6th from 5-8pm with the artist in attendance. The exhibition is free and open to the public during regular gallery hours.
