Celebrating its sixth year, Photographers’ Journey 2026 returns to Image City Photography Gallery with 64 photographs by 44 photographers from the Rochester, Buffalo and Finger Lakes region. Organized into eight categories, the juried exhibition showcases a wide range of subjects, styles, and creative approaches.

In Landscapes / Seascapes, photographers explore the beauty and changing moods of the natural world, from powerful shorelines and sweeping deserts to forests and night skies. Architecture / Cityscape highlights the patterns, character, and design of buildings, bridges, interiors, and urban spaces.

The photographs in Conceptual / Abstract move beyond straightforward representation, using shape, color, reflection, layering, and digital techniques to express ideas and emotions. Journalism / Street captures candid moments and everyday experiences, offering glimpses of life as it naturally unfolds.

Portraits explores personality, emotion, movement, and the human form through expressive lighting, settings, and gestures. In Wildlife, photographers capture birds and mammals in moments of action, stillness, and interaction, revealing the beauty and diversity of the animal world.

The Botanical / Still Life category draws attention to the colors, textures, and delicate structures of flowers, leaves, seedpods, fungi, and other carefully observed subjects. Travel brings together memorable views of distinctive places, cultures, landscapes, and people encountered away from home.

Together, these eight categories demonstrate photography’s remarkable ability to document the world, interpret experience, and transform familiar subjects into something unexpected. Photographers’ Journey 2026 invites visitors to enjoy 44 individual perspectives and discover the many creative directions a photographic journey can take.
