PORTAL BODIES is a collection of energy portraits, skulls, creatures, and thresholds. Through digital collage, symbolism, color, and intuitive image-making, Molly Darling explores the portrait as more than a likeness. A body can be a doorway. A skull can hold memory. An image can become a portal into grief, desire, identity, and possibility. These works live somewhere between portrait and apparition, asking what might happen if we saw ourselves as less fixed and more alive with transformation.

Molly Darling is a Rochester-based interdisciplinary artist working across painting, digital collage, intuitive portraiture, and creative ritual. Her work explores identity, transformation, grief, desire, imagination, and the strange places where the visible and invisible overlap. Through symbolism, color, bodies, bones, creatures, and archetypal imagery, she creates work that feels part portrait, part portal.
