Community
Image City Photography Gallery
722 University Ave.
Feb 2, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The next exhibit at Image City is Community. Last year, Gil Maker, Steve Malloy-Desormeaux, Don Menges and John Solberg selected a theme to interpret visually, challenging themselves to study the same concept and find their photographic ‘voice’ to express the concept with a collection of images for this show. They decided on a theme about “Community,” which is usually defined as a social group of any size, whose members reside in a specific locality and often share a common culture and historic heritage. Visit the Gallery to compare and contrast their varying interpretations of “Community.” Other photographers in the show: Jim Patton and David Perlman in the Neuberger Gallery and guest artists Peter Blackwood, Nick Jospe, Anthony Paladino and Mary Shelsby as well as Camera Rochester Award Winning Photographs, Gallery Partners and Artists-In-Residence. When: January 23-February 18, 2018; Tues-Sat 12-6, Sun 12-4 Open Reception Friday January 26, 5-8:30 First Friday Gallery Night Reception: February 2, 5 to 9pm Where: Image City Photography Gallery, 722 University Avenue, corner Oxford, in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts.
