A New Turn Toward the Abstract for Robin McCondichie
Pittsford Fine Art
4 N Main St.
Jan 7, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm

As one of the founding members of the artists-run Pittsford Fine Art, Robin McCondichie is no stranger to the kinds of realistic paintings that dominate the gallery. But, in place of the landscapes she has focused on for many years, the Naples-based artist will feature all new abstract work as Pittsford Fine Art’s featured artist for January, and you can meet the artist on First Friday.

McCondichie said she recently turned toward painting abstracts to explore how to express a feeling of optimism without having an obvious object represented. “Painting brings balance and grounding not only to my artwork, but to my inner life and well-being,” she said. “Each piece brings me back to a new beginning, a fresh challenge. The question is renewed: how will this piece find its way to expressing the original spark? How will this material bring this snapshot of life through my hand?”

The gallery is open on Fridays from noon to 8 pm; check the website (pittsfordfineart.com) for other hours. Parking is available in front of the gallery, at 4 North Main Street, or at the nearby public parking lot.

COVID policy: Masks are required for all visitors, with thanks in advance for cooperation.
