Image City Photography Gallery proudly announces Camera Rochester’s 7th Annual Excellence Show. The Opening Reception on November 6 invites the public to celebrate outstanding photography and the vibrant spirit of the local arts community.

Camera Rochester invites all photography enthusiasts, art lovers, and members of the community to visit Excellence 2026 at Image City. This event is a celebration of creativity, community, and the transformative power of photography. Come experience the diverse and inspiring work of Rochester’s local photographers and discover the stories behind each image.

Founded in 1970, Camera Rochester is a welcoming and dynamic community of photographers. For over five decades, the group has encouraged local artists to pursue their creative passions and achieve excellence in photography. Camera Rochester encourages all its members, from enthusiastic beginners to seasoned professionals. Camera Rochester meets once or twice a month, sharing images and engaging in lively, thoughtful discussions. These gatherings are central to the group’s philosophy, fostering new ideas, creativity, and lasting friendships. Every meeting provides a safe space for respectful feedback, with all comments valued and considered.

Camera Rochester values mutual respect and support. Photographers decide for themselves what is most helpful to their personal journey, in an environment where experimentation and self-expression are celebrated. Mutual respect allows each member’s unique interests and skills to flourish in a non-judgmental environment. The group avoids activities and situations which have the potential to stifle individual expression. Diverse ideas and concepts are encouraged, recognizing that there is no magic formula for great photography.
