Join us on First Friday for a free reading by Charles Phillips, author of Estranged, recent recipient of the NYC Big Book Award for a Political Thriller at 7 pm. Copies of Estranged will be available for purchase in the bookstore.

Charles will read from the first chapter of his novel, a scene in which the controversial city editor of an established progressive daily in the urban Midwest of 1950 is attacked by an ambitious U.S. Senator eager to make a name for himself as the country’s most ardent anti-communist.
