Chris Cilento is a retired U.S. Army veteran whose multiple combat deployments profoundly shape his photography. His work transforms personal trauma into images that explore memory, resilience, and healing. Through the lens, he gives form to the emotional weight of war, using light, shadow, and stillness to create space for reflection. Nature—especially waterfalls—plays a central role in his process. The search, the hike, the quiet arrival at falling water offer him a sense of peace that flows into his art. Cilento’s photography invites viewers into a dialogue between past and present, pain and beauty, isolation and connection.
