Webster artist, Gabriele Lodder, says “Any subject can be transformed into a painting; therefore, letting your imagination explore the scene in front of you is very freeing.” Her adventures and world-wide travels have stimulated her creative thoughts to paint what she has seen and experienced firsthand.
Lodder is the featured artist at Pittsford Fine Art for the month of December and will be exhibiting many of her beautiful paintings. This First Friday, Lodder will be at the gallery to share her insights on the creation and inspiration of her work.
A self-taught artist, Lodder began with watercolor, continued with oils, and then moved to her “go-to” medium, pastels. Lodder honed her skills by taking numerous workshops with locally and internationally known artists to build her confidence and refine her artwork.
“I am always honored when a judge at an exhibition selects my work for an award. It acknowledges my hard work and diligence and inspires me on to continue doing what I love – to paint.” Lodder believes the true joy of painting is sharing her work with patrons and other lovers of art.
Lodder is a member of Main Street Artists located in the Fedder Building, a signature member and past treasurer of the Rochester Art Club, past president of the Penfield Art Association, member of the Pastel Society of Western New York, and is affiliated with many other local art organizations. Lodder’s work has been juried into numerous exhibitions and received awards accordingly.
