“I imagine Daniel Witkowski to have an internal monologue much like street photographer Humphrey Bogart or John Sugar, roaming around Western NY, letting his internal voice influence the photos he chooses to make. The photos Daniel produces turn into books at some point. They are not dime store novels either. ‘Smug Dream’ is like a noir film turned technicolor as Daniel makes his way around Rochester capturing the beautiful absurdities of how we fill space with our bodies in Rochester. ‘So What?’ is more like a whodunnit where we never find out who the villains or victims are. ‘Dead Flowers’ is a trip into Daniel’s own consciousness, breaking the fifth wall, now an external monologue.” – Jason Wilder

Daniel will be showing his photography at Fattey Beer throughout the month of May. On First Friday, Daniel will be joined by singer Ben Rossi of Left-Handed 2nd Baseman with a two hour set from 8pm to 10pm. Fattey Beer is open from 12pm to 10:30pm on First Friday, giving you ample time to view his photos.
