Our Featured Artist for February is Bill Finewood. Bill is a professional artist and educator. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from Syracuse University and lives in Ontario, NY. During his professional career he worked in his studio as an illustrator/graphic designer. Bill transitioned to education retiring a few years back as an Associate Professor of illustration at RIT. Now, he is so grateful to be a member of Pittsford Fine Art gallery where he shows his original paintings, drawings and occasionally, some older dimensional works. It is truly an outstanding opportunity to be associated with some very special artists from the Greater Rochester, NY region. Inspiration for Bill’s work comes from many places including where he lives, works and plays. Living in the Finger Lakes region, near Lake Ontario and the Erie Canal system provides plenty of opportunities to view unique landscapes, architecture and technologies.

Bill Finewood’s work has been commissioned by clients including: Xerox, Mobil, DuPont, Holt Rinehart and Winston, Citibank, Federal Reserve Bank, Dunn and Bradstreet, Pfizer, Nalge, Time, Fly Rod & Reel, Flyfisherman, Habitat for Humanity and Fisher-Price Toys. His dimensional illustrations have been exhibited in shows including the Society of Illustrators, Dimensional and Digital Illustrators Awards Show and American Illustration.
