Join us for First Friday as we highlight the evocative, nature‑driven work of Marleen van Aardt — Marleen is a self‑taught artist, plein air painter, and scientist with a PhD in Food Science whose creative practice is shaped by a lifelong love of the natural world.

Born in South Africa and now painting throughout Western New York, Marleen brings a sense of discovery, presence, and quiet connection to every piece she creates. Her plein air work responds directly to shifting light, sound, and atmosphere, distilling the essence of a moment into expressive, grounded landscapes. Her work invites viewers to pause, breathe, and feel the place she’s captured.

We welcome you to an evening of art, conversation, and community as we open our September exhibition.
