What would you do if you found a Deed to a Human Being in a box of keepsakes among your parents’ possessions?
This happened to Meredith. In her published book and related exhibition she examines her growing knowledge that slavery is a part of her family history.
Meredith Davenport is an artist and educator living and working in Western New York. She had a long career as a documentary photographer and as a photojournalist. She teaches photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her recent book Membering was published by Antenna Paper Machine in New Orleans.
