Model Shipwrights
Military History Society of Rochester
250 N Goodman St., 2nd Floor
Aug 7, 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The work of two outstanding model shipwrights is featured. Two Revolutionary War models, the gunboat Philadelphia and the brig Lexington, were built by Lacy Smith. This is a tribute to Lacy, an excellent craftsman, who recently passed away. His talents will be missed. The Civil War mortar schooner C. P. Williams by Bill Emerson is his latest completion. Bill is an exceptional modeler who has many ships in museums across the country, including the Smithsonian. Also on display are additional models by Bill and other members of the Model Shipwright’s Guild of Western New York.
