Nourishment from the Underground
Hinterland Studio
60 Browns Race
Feb 7, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Nourishment from the Underground is an art exhibit comparing naturally-occurring mutual aid networks such as forest mycelium with the connections that human beings need and make to ensure their flourishing. Framed as a call for art, this show features 30 artists from all walks of life, both in and outside of Rochester, exploring what sustains them beneath the surface of their modern-day living. Artists were encouraged to share glimpses “behind the curtain” of their creative processes, inviting visitors to view finished works beside their rough drafts, field notes, and thumbnails, exploring the creative practice itself, and how it nourishes us.
This exhibit opens Feb 1st and runs through the end of March.
