One Day in Rochester by Robert Forrest is a project that highlights the daily life of our city and the many perspectives that exist within it. This collaborative body of work is a testament to our community here in Rochester.

The inspiration for this project was from a series of photo books titled “A Day In The Life” by Rick Smolan and David Cohen. These books from the 80’s-00’s covered different countries over a period of 24 hours from the perspective of 200 world renowned photo journalists.

Scaled down, One Day in Rochester offers moments from members of the community in Rochester on September 21st, 2025. In the spirit of community over competition, this was an open call for art, with all submissions being accepted. There was no criteria except for the date and location.
