“As a young child living in Herat, Afghanistan, my fondest memories centered on drawing, painting, and creating works of art that reflected the beauty of my environment. Whether it was painting the sunset or the night sky, which illustrated my fascination with astronomy, or landscapes of the spectacular natural regions that surrounded me, my art was, and continues to be, the way in which I communicate. From the landscapes of the peaceful mountains of Afghanistan and the sound of the waves of the ocean and the beaches of America to the portraits of my loved ones, from my love of nature to the love and my inspirations of space, and the beauty of this world.

“My art is based on designing, working 2D and 3D, as well as illustrating realistic images either reflecting nature or portraits. Although I mainly use acrylics, oil paint, and working with soft and hard materials in 3 dimensional space and digital media as well.” –Sodaba Khalil
