Through the Student Lens 2026 celebrates the creativity and vision of the next generation of photographers. For the 18th year, Image City Photography Gallery proudly opens its walls to more than 200 talented student photographers from Rochester and Monroe County. This inspiring exhibition fills the gallery with nearly 240 striking images created by students representing 24 participating schools. Displayed in a professional gallery setting, these photographs reveal fresh perspectives, bold imagination, and the remarkable artistic voices emerging from our local classrooms. Through the Student Lens has become a cherished annual tradition — one that highlights the power of photography as a tool for observation, storytelling, and creative expression. Visitors will discover an energetic and diverse collection of work that reflects both the individuality of each student and the vibrant artistic spirit growing throughout our community.

Each participating school has submitted ten photos taken by students, with no more than two photos from any one student on display. Student photographs are printed by Michael Hager of Museum Photographics and mounted by Jason Campbell and Thalia Kohler of Frameworks of Rochester. In addition, participating photography teachers will be exhibiting their work in the adjacent Neuberger Gallery.
