Capri Wine Bar & Restaurant invites you to join us in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the creation and showing by James McNeil Whistler of his Venice pastels.

Due to their frail nature, many of Whistler’s original pastels are now hidden away in museum vaults throughout the world; many are badly faded or otherwise damaged, and all the works have not been seen together since his historic London exhibition in the mid-1870s. The artist Jim Fischer has reproduced all of the pastels (over 60) from the original exhibition. Using the same materials as Whistler, and after carefully studying his groundbreaking pastel technique, Fischer has reproduced all of these works to show them in the same pristine condition as the originals in the London exhibition.
