Winter 2025 Opening Reception
COMP Studios
137 East Ave., Upstairs
Dec 5, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Visit COMP Studios at RoCo Upstairs to see the projects that artists Noah Winslow and Yuliia Poraiko have been working on during their residency.
Noah is developing a project that explores his experience with Ménière’s disease – a chronic, incurable inner ear disorder that affects balance and hearing – through the metaphor of a junkyard. He is creating large drawings of imagined junkyard scenes and portraits, and will exhibit them alongside poetry and clay sculpture.
Yuliia’s work experiment with color, texture, and organic shapes. She uses acrylic and oil paints to express emotional states through movement, the fluidity of her paint, and carefully selected colors. Generally in Yuliia’s practice, she explores feminity, female nature and its energy, and this new series focuses on similar themes, as well as motherhood and inner strength.
Come meet the artists, see their workspaces, and celebrate the end of their residency!
